Vacation is over, and reality hit me really fast and really hard. We returned home about 24hours before the new school year started – it was a hectic day! I am glad to finally have most things under control and sit down at my computer, catch up on emails and phone calls, start preparing viewing galleries for clients who got photographed before my vacation. A few fresh babies arrived while I was gone, and I got to meet couple of them. I missed freshness!

I am also working on Christmas mini sessions, and will announce date and place soon – I hope to see all those newborns I got to photograph all grown up and sitting up

And here are my two all ready for 1st and 2nd grade – time sure flies by!

Oh my poor blog, so neglected. I have been way too busy, and it does not seem to slow down any time soon. Which is a great thing, right? Busy is good, busy makes me happy, well, sometimes a bit miserable and stressed, but feeling so much love is a wonderful feeling. I have been meeting many new fresh babies and their excited parents, my head is spinning – it’s been fun times and great experiences for all of us. I will try to share all those sessions in the nearest future, I promise!

Between fresh newborns, expecting moms and beach sessions, August is completely booked at this time. I am starting to book fall sessions, and my calendar is filing up faster than I expected. Email me if you are expecting a baby in the fall, or would like to get your family’s annual picture taken for Christmas card.

The summer is almost over, but I still have a few beach sessions to photograph – very excited for sun, sand, and sea mist! For now, I will share a few snapshots from Outerbanks, NC where a few weeks ago I spent time relaxing and soaking up the sun. A wonderful friend decided I HAD to get in front of the camera, and so I did. My camera stayed behind while we used compact Canon Powershot, and all images were taken by kind strangers or our kids, age 5 through 7. Great times!

Earth Day 2010 celebrates its 40th birthday today. I hope you had a great day – green, environment-conscious, and did at least one thing different. Maybe walked to work? Recycled all your trash? Turned the lights off? Or maybe decided to change an old habit and make it greener, better for environment?

Our lives are so fast, sometimes we don’t even pay attention to the smallest details. We just walk by, don’t notice, forget, ignore.. Today is a great day to finally notice and make a change. And hopefully keep that change going till next Earth Day.

Yep, today is my birthday. Getting old(er) is not really scary anymore – I am actually enjoying my changing numbers. And so far, it’s been a great day. On the way to school, my kids were discussing my birthday. And then conversation turned unexpectedly – they were discussing how many years they have left till drivers license. WHAT??? They are 6 and 7, drivers license? Wow, I must be getting old….

My kids are always questioning why I do not put their pictures on my blog, so here it is, kiddos, you are on the blog!

Once again, a very special date was missing off the calendar of 2010. February 28th was the day before, but the very next morning of March 1st was already the day after. Yep, the day in between – February 29th – should have been my son’s 6th birthday. It’s not just his birthday that makes him so special. His personality is what really makes him so unbelievably amazing. According to preschool teachers from last year, he was the best cleaner in the class (woot woot!). But this year in kindergarten he is the best fighting games starter (boy, echhh…) He enjoys watching football, but he does not want to play it – they hurt each other too much. He reads chapter books and it makes his sister a bit jealous as she just started reading them a few months ago. The kid’s got a taste and opinion like you would not believe it! So when it came down to his birthday, he did not want a cake, nor cupcakes. He wanted his candles on blueberry pancakes! And it was OK for his six candles to be pink – mommy, pink is a great color

. The whole whipped cream thing never happens at our household, so it made him so so happy. He could not believe I would let them stick that thing in their mouths. And of course, the day ended at the usual place – breaking the bank at the LEGO store.

Happy birthday to my super LEGO man!

Oh, what a joy! We have been in North Carolina for over 5 years, and each year we get a day or two to taste a winter. But this time it was not just a taste, it’s a real winter!!! Windy, chilly, and white white! Kids found this blow-up sled we had for years, and just never got to use, and off we went! It was absolutely fantastic time. But let me tell you, I am glad it’s only once a year for couple days

I have done my fair share of cold and snow while growing up, and I am kinda done.

It’s a wonderful Sunday for all the fathers around the country. I hope every one of them got a hug and a kiss from their daughters and sons, grand kids, and maybe even great grand kids.
The man I am married to is a great father to my two children, I guess I picked the right one

His wisdom and strength teaches my kids responsibility and respect, his loving and caring side is so strong when when our kids are around. Thank you for being a great dad, honey!
