Happy Birthday | Raleigh Children Photographer

My kids are always questioning why I do not put their pictures on my blog, so here it is, kiddos, you are on the blog!

Once again, a very special date was missing off the calendar of 2010. February 28th was the day before, but the very next morning of March 1st was already the day after. Yep, the day in between – February 29th – should have been my son’s 6th birthday. It’s not just his birthday that makes him so special. His personality is what really makes him so unbelievably amazing. According to preschool teachers from last year, he was the best cleaner in the class (woot woot!). But this year in kindergarten he is the best fighting games starter (boy, echhh…) He enjoys watching football, but he does not want to play it – they hurt each other too much. He reads chapter books and it makes his sister a bit jealous as she just started reading them a few months ago. The kid’s got a taste and opinion like you would not believe it! So when it came down to his birthday, he did not want a cake, nor cupcakes. He wanted his candles on blueberry pancakes! And it was OK for his six candles to be pink – mommy, pink is a great color:). The whole whipped cream thing never happens at our household, so it made him so so happy. He could not believe I would let them stick that thing in their mouths. And of course, the day ended at the usual place – breaking the bank at the LEGO store.

Happy birthday to my super LEGO man!

Here are a few early morning casual snaps – pancakes and all.

Birthday Bash | Raleigh Children Photography

Newborns may be my passion, but I enjoy photographing older kids and families too. It’s nice to see people actually notice me and give looks and funny expressions as oppose to a tiny sleepy newborn:)While I can not wait for true spring to come, here is a fun indoors mini session with a gorgeous little girl. She is turning one today – Happy Birthday!

The day before our session Jocelyn’s mom told me how they went to a local chain studio just to see how Jocelyn would react to a photographer and camera. As sad as it may sound it was nothing, but tears. So the mom was very unsure what to expect at the session with me. Well, the reason #136 why choose a custom photographer – your kid won’t cry! We started with some intense looks – oh, how much I adore that! Eyes speak volumes and show the soul – I just love getting them, love it!

After a quick warm up, we tackled the cake. You be the judge if she liked it. Those expressions are priceless if you ask me. Happy Birthday, Jocelyn!

Baby Louise on NBC | Raleigh Newborn Photographer Lina Jarmond Photography

Most of my dear friends and clients knew about it. I am so excited and humbled to show this clip to you all who do not live in Raleigh-Durham, NC area and did not get to see my newborn photography featured on the morning news. I will admit I did not see the whole clip myself – I just can not make myself to listen to my own voice, sounds so different and bizzare.

I always try to bring and love to have a helping hand – and assistant – during the newborn shoots. Makes it really easier, smoother, safer. Sometimes a dad or grandma becomes my assistant. You will hear the mom mention “they” – she was talking about me and my great friend Amy, who was with me for the shoot. Thanks girl!

So here is the clip to watch for you all.
